COURSE DESCRIPTION
Please note, this is subject to change and updates can be found here at the website. As this is a USAT Sanctioned event, there will be officials on the course for your safety. There will also be a police monitor on the bike course as it is an open road.
SWIM (approx. 800 yards)
The 800 yard swim will be a loop course in Aurora Reservoir. Participants choosing to swim first will begin from the starting line outside of the transition area which will be close to the beach. Partipants choosing not to swim first will access the beach through the "Exit" of the transition area.
BIKE (approx. 14 miles)
The 14 mile bike portion of the course will be an out and back course on paved roads. Participants will exit the Aurora Reservoir complex traveling east on Quincy Avenue. The turnaround is on Quincy. The Bike course has rolling hills in both directions and offers a breathtaking view of the Front Range Mountains as cyclists return to the Reservoir.
RUN (approx. 4 miles)
The 4 mile Run portion will be conducted on paths entirely within the Aurora Reservoir complex and will be a combination of cement and dirt paths. It will have some rolling hills but very little elevation gain and loss.
The race will end with each participant entering the transition area and then exiting via a finish chute, taking an approx. 25 yard run down a concrete path into the finish area.
